What is included in the Barkbus Signature service?
Our Signature Service includes all of the following at no extra cost. Eight stops on the route, one price, no transfers.

First, we bathe them in a warm filtered hydro-jet water bath using all-natural shampoos and conditioners. Then, we carefully blow dry them and gently brush out their fur. Once their coat is clean and soft, we'll trim their nails and clean their ears, eyes, paws, and teeth. If needed, we can express their anal glands.
Full body and partial haircuts are not included in this service. A haircut is not included in the basic Signature Service, but a partial or full haircut and styling can be added to the package when you book your appointment. We also offer a DeShedding Service with the option to book with or without a haircut.

Maltese & More Rescue
Maltese & More Rescue is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to rescuing small dog breeds and finding them loving homes in Southern California.
The Barking Lot
The Barking Lot rescue in San Diego is a volunteer organization that has rescued over 5,000 dogs since 2010. Their partnership with Soi Dog Foundation, based in Thailand, has allowed them to assist with rescuing and flying in one group of dogs per month, all survivors of the illegal dog meat trade.
Labrador Rescuers
Labrador Rescuers was established in 2004 to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home stray, abandoned and unwanted Labrador Retrievers and Lab mixes and make it possible for every dog in their care, regardless of age or health issues, to be adopted into a safe, happy and loving forever home.
Priceless Pets
Priceless Pets is a non-profit animal welfare organization. They operate our life-saving efforts out of multiple adoption centers known as “The Orphanage,” with locations in Chino Hills, Claremont, and Costa Mesa. All animals are rescued from various circumstances and are in our care until their new forever families adopt them!
Barks of Love
Barks of Love is recognized as a major resource for the welfare of abandoned and abused animals in Orange County, CA. Their goal is to lower euthanasia rates in all animal shelters. They provide our services in Orange County; however, they also extend services to dogs in need from surrounding counties of Southern California. They rehabilitate and re-train dogs that are able to qualify for adoption.
Dallas Pets Alive
Dallas Pets Alive is a nonprofit animal rescue dedicated to saving the lives of Dallas' homeless pets. Founded in 2013, they focus on rescuing animals on death row and those who are at risk of being euthanized. They strive to make Dallas a no-kill city by providing foster homes, veterinary care, adoption services, and community outreach.

We started Barkbus in 2017 to end traumatic trips to the salon that far too often means your pup is in a cage for hours and stressed from all the other dogs, sights and smells. The Barkbus service is one-on-one the entire time, with no cages or other dogs around. Our state-of-the-art, next generation mobile grooming vans are fully self sufficient and engineered for stress-free grooming!
Founded by Los Angeles dog-loving entrepreneurs, Barkbus is centered around building a community of world-class grooming talent and providing reliable service through seamless technology. Our goal is to end traumatic trips to the grooming salon by providing a safe and stress-free mobile grooming experience at your doorstep.
We don't work with gig labor. Our stylists are trained in scissor work and breed-specific cuts, and we invest in their certifications.

To find out how dog ownership has changed people’s lives, Barkbus surveyed 1,000 dog owners and non-dog owners to compare their overall lifestyles.

- 69%of people who got a dog during the pandemic chose to continue working from home rather than return to the office due to their dog.

- The Spruce Pets estimates that owning a dog costs between $1,500 and $9,900 annually.
- The second most common reason for getting a dog was protection, according to 53% of respondents.
- Maybe that’s why 14% of respondents said they wanted a dog so they could attract love interests!
- It seems to have worked for many of them, as 48% said owning a dog has gotten them a date, and 93% said that including their dog on their online dating profile got them more matches.
- Of the dog owners we surveyed, 60% got theirs during the pandemic.
- According to our study, 69% of those who got a dog during the pandemic continued to work from home instead of returning to the office, while only 20% of non-pandemic dog owners opted to stay remote.
- Barkbus surveyed 1,000 Americans about their quality of life and dog ownership. 55.4% were dog owners, 22.7% had no pets, and 21.9% had pets other than dogs.

- Searches for “dog friendly work spaces near me” are up 267% this month.

- In the last year, searches for workplace pet policy templates were up 400%, and 71% of employees reported that their employer had updated their pet policy.
- Pet-friendly offices also experience 56% less company turnover.
- Only 18% of employers said they would let employees bring their pups to the office every day. But a slightly more promising 31% would allow canine companions on certain days, at least.
- Aside from pet days, employers were most likely to offer pet insurance (40%) or other perks outside the office like “pawternity” leave (31%) and extra breaks for walks and feedings (25%).
- To determine perceptions about bringing dogs to the office Barkbus surveyed 1,057 individuals, comprising 253 employers and 804 employees.

If it is stress
If your dog is yawning due to stress, offer them comfort and reassurance. Speak to them in a calm, soothing voice, and provide a safe space where they can retreat and feel secure.
If it is boredom
If boredom is the cause, engage your dog in a fun activity. A quick game of fetch or a new toy can stimulate their mind and alleviate boredom.
If it is tiredness
When your dog yawns as a sign of tiredness, respect their need for rest. Ensure they have a cozy, quiet place to relax and recharge.
Want a simple way to check if your pup needs a trim? Lift up their paws and check if they are walking on any fur. When the hair between their paw pads starts growing out to the point where your fur baby is stepping on it, it’s definitely time for a haircut!

- How much experience do Barkbus Pet Stylists have?
- All Barkbus Pet Stylists have years of experience in complex grooming, dog safety, and breed-specific haircuts so we can ensure your furbabies will feel right at home with us. Barkbus also ensures that all of our Pet Stylists become canine CPR & First-Aide certified with the International Pet Groomers Association training standards. We are a team of professional, compassionate dog lovers and would love to earn your trust.
- How long does a typical groom take?
- Safety is and will always be our number one priority, so we always take our time and never rush a pup’s groom. Our Signature service is far less stressful than traditional salon grooming, so our service takes a fraction of the time. You can expect each appointment to take anywhere from 1 to 3 hours depending on dog breed and size, but please note that since we never rush, it may take more time. The great news is that we are right out front if you ever want to check up on your pup!
- My dog has sensitive skin, do you have a shampoo for that?
- Yes! Each vehicle carries an array of specialty products such as a gentle oatmeal sensitive skin shampoo, a de-shed conditioner and a blueberry face wash that are included in each service. Just talk with your professional Pet Stylist about what is best for your pup!
- Will you service my elderly/disabled dog?
- We are able to service most elderly & disabled dogs with a few exceptions. Our Pet Stylists are one-on-one with your dog in the van and do not have assistants or helpers. Some elderly dogs may have trouble standing on their own for extended lengths of time. In these cases we recommend a groomer who has an assistant, or a veterinarian who can offer sedated grooming services. We also recommend veterinarian assisted grooming for any dog with a history of seizures. In the best interest and well being of your dog, we will not start any services that we don't feel confident we can safely complete, or that we feel may put too much stress on your dog.
- Do you need to plug into my house for water and power?
- Absolutely not! Our state-of-the-art, next generation mobile grooming vans are fully self sufficient and engineered for grooming, so we never need to plug into your house for water or power. We have everything we need to pamper your pup and will never leave a drop after the service!
- Does Barkbus service my area?
- Barkbus proudly serves Southern California including the greater Los Angeles, Orange County & San Diego areas. We also proudly serve Dallas, Texas! Barkbus comes to you in north LA whether you are in Malibu, Sherman Oaks, Simi Valley, or Agoura Hills. We joyfully drive down the beach or into the hills from Marina Del Rey to Hollywood and beyond. In Orange County, you can see the Barkbus vans throughout from Huntington Beach to Yorba Linda down through Irvine, Laguna Beach, Dana Point, San Clemente and everywhere in between. - What policies and fees may apply to my appointment?
- At Barkbus, our mission is to provide luxury doorstep grooming for all our fur-families. To keep our service running smoothly, here are a few friendly reminders:
- Cancellation Policy: We understand that life happens! Please cancel or reschedule appointments at least 24 hours in advance. Appointments canceled or rescheduled within 24 hours may incur additional fees.
- Matted or Compacted Coats: Regular professional grooming and at-home care are essential for your pet’s health. Severely matted or compacted coats will incur an additional $100 fee.
- Timely Pick-Up & Drop-Off: We love bringing the convenience of grooming to your doorstep. Please be ready to hand over and pick up your pet when notified. There is a 15-minute grace period for drop-off and pick-up. Excessive wait times beyond this grace period may incur a $1 per minute fee.
- Service Refusal: Not all pups are suited for our one-on-one service, and safety is our priority. Please review our safety policy before booking. Pets that do not meet our safety criteria may be refused service, which could result in a fee of up to 100% of the estimated appointment total.
